Respite Caregiver (Lanesboro, MA)

Nonotuck Resource Associates is assisting in the search for a caring and compassionate respite caregiver to provide support for a wonderful woman in her seventies. Though she does not use words to express her needs and wants, she communicates in other meaningful ways. She brings joy to those around her with her unique sense of humor, sweet smile, and a laugh that is simply contagious! This individual relies on a wheelchair due to physical limitations, and the ideal respite caregiver must be comfortable providing full Activities of Daily Living support and have the physical ability to assist with lifting. Knowledge of—or a willingness to learn how to prepare—a pureed diet is also important.

She likes cooking Spanish food, people watching, TV (loves game shows), and staying socially active. She is looking for a person or people that share similar interests and will help her feel like she is an inclusive member of the household. We are looking for a Spanish speaking shared living provider who would welcome her into their home and provide support with daily living and skill development. She will also require assistance with budgeting and managing her monthly funds, managing emergent safety situations, and support with scheduling activities. A home with a first-level bedroom and bathroom are required due to her mobility needs. If you are in the Lawrence area and able to provide support to this person, we encourage you to apply.
