Community-Based Day Services

At Nonotuck, our Community-Based Day Services (CBDS) focus on building bridges—bridges between a person’s interests and the relationships, places, and opportunities that help those interests grow into valued roles and a meaningful life in the community. Every day begins with the person and their vision for who they want to be.

We believe people learn best through exploration and experience. Our personalized approach supports each person to try new things, meet new people, discover local resources, and participate in community life in ways that feel natural and engaging. With each step, confidence grows and skills develop organically—from navigating public spaces to building friendships to mastering a new hobby or work role.

A meaningful life is more than activities—it includes balance, well-being, and the freedom to create a rhythm that feels right. We support people in tending to their wellness in ways that bring harmony: movement, rest, creative expression, social connection, mindfulness, nature, relationships, routines, and joy.

All of this grows from our core values—mutual respect, healthy interdependence, authenticity, and love. Our role is to walk alongside each person as a trusted partner, providing the bridge to a community life filled with purpose, possibility, and belonging.
