Ferrera is an award-winning actress who has acted in sitcoms such as Ugly Betty and Superstore, in addition to her work as a political activist. She speaks at length about how her identity as a Hispanic woman—she is the daughter of Honduran immigrants—hindered her pursuit of an acting career, and how she ultimately embraced her identity as a strength.
