Nonotuck Earns CARF Accreditation

Nonotuck Resource Associates is proud to announce our recent 3-year accreditation by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International. From May 2-4, representatives from CARF reviewed Nonotuck’s service delivery through a Digitally Enabled Site Survey (DESS) in Host Family/ Shared Living services delivery [in both DDS and AFC services], in nursing and clinical services, in the area of health and safety, and IT services.

Representatives from CARF met virtually across the state at Nonotuck’s 11 Program/ Service locations as well as virtual visits with stakeholders, providers, and people served.

Nonotck received high commendations for our fiscal operations and department, our civility and wellness initiatives, our deep commitment to human rights, and our commitment to the people we serve.  The CARF team mentioned our highly qualified leadership team, our terrific Board of Directors, and our value-based exceptional strategic plan.

According to the CARF Accreditation report: “Nonotuck Resource Associates is an organization clearly committed to making the needs of the persons served its primary focus. The board of directors, leadership team, and staff members strive for excellence in services. It is evident that the persons served benefit from the programs and services provided. The organization’s board, leadership, and management team demonstrate effective decision making and sound financial management.”

CARF went on to praise Nonotuck’s staff as going above and beyond, with one stakeholder commenting that Nonotuck staff are “like a family,” and are “always extremely helpful.”

The CARF accreditation process applies sets of standards to service areas and business practices during an on-site survey. Accreditation is an ongoing process, signaling to the public that a service provider is committed to continuously improving services, encouraging feedback, and serving the community. Accreditation also demonstrates a provider's commitment to enhance its performance, manage its risk, and distinguish its service delivery.
